Houston Criminal Attorney
Traffic Tickets
Whether from traffic tickets or other driving infractions, the last thing you want is any additional points on your driving record. These points will brand you as a ‘high risk’ driver and you will be forced to pay higher insurance premiums. If you have been ticketed in Galveston County, your case will be handled either by the Municipal Court or the Justice of the Peace jurisdictions. If you want to avoid added points to your driving record, you have to fight the ticket in court. Our criminal attorneys at Tad Nelson and Associates will consult with the prosecutors in your case to get you a deferred adjudication or possibly even get your case dismissed.
If we are unable to achieve this in the Municipal or Justice of the Peace Courts, we can file an appeal to have your case moved to a County Court. It could take up to four months before the County Court can hear your case, but when they do we will be there to ensure that your rights are protected and that you get a favorable result in your case.
In Texas, if a driver is issued three traffic tickets in a 12 month period they are subject to an ALR (Administrative License Removal). In this hearing you will be appearing in front of a judge and must defend your right to keep your driving privileges. In the event that you have tickets on your driving record, you could be facing a license suspension of up to two years.
Unfortunately, Mr. Nelson does not handle traffic offenses in Houston or the surrounding areas. If you have a traffic ticket in Houston or anywhere else close to Harris County we recommend you check the website of Robert Eustler.
